Special Olympics EU Day provided another important opportunity for athletes to raise their voices, share their lived experiences, and advocate for greater inclusion across Europe. The event, held between the 24th and 25th of September, brought together athletes, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss pressing issues in Health, Early Development, and Inclusive Sports and Education.

On September 16, 2025, Special Olympics International was honored with the prestigious "Fair Play for Peace" award in Brussels, recognizing its commitment to promoting inclusion and peace through sport.

Gilmour Borg, Special Olympics Malta athlete, was one of the keynote speakers at the Opening Ceremony of the Special Olympics Winter World Games 2025 taking place in Turin, Italy, alongside Dr. Tim Shriver, Chairperson of Special Olympics, delivering an inspiring messages of hope and courage to the 1,500 athletes gathered in Turin, Italy, between the 8th and 16th of March 2025.
