Special Olympics MATP Meetup Brings Athletes Together in Seixal, Portugal

The first MATP (Motor Activity Training Program) Meetup in Seixal, Portugal, organized by Special Olympics Portugal, united athletes from six countries: Malta, Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Cyprus, and Italy.
Participants had the chance to explore a range of adapted sports, including skateboarding, paddleboarding at the Albufeira Lagoon, and surfing along the Caparica coast.
Representing Malta were athletes Owen Axiaq, Luke Cardona, and Kelly Anne Azzopardi, who embraced every activity with enthusiasm and determination.
Special thanks go to the Special Olympics Malta coach and Aġenzija Sapport for facilitating the athletes’ participation and ensuring a truly memorable experience.
